        Gina Tognoni joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in August 2014. She plays Phyllis Newman, who is married to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and mother to Summer Newman Travers (Hunter King.) In 2015, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actress.”

        Tognoni was born in St. Louis, Mo., and went to high school in Rhode Island, where she was discovered while competing in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Prior to THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, she was best known for her role as Kelly Cramer on “One Life To Live” and as Dinah Marler on “Guiding Light,” for which she won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in both 2006 and 2008.

          Her television credits include “The Sopranos,” “Law & Order SVU,” “Fastlane,” “Phenomenon” and “This Time Around.” She appeared in the feature film “Pride” and the Independent Spirit Award-nominated film “In The Family.”

       In addition to her work as an actress, Tognoni recently launched Sole9, a shoe collection in which a portion of all proceeds benefit women’s charities throughout the United States.

        She has dedicated her time to philanthropic causes such as the American Red Cross, ASPCA, the Hoboken Homeless Shelter and the Hands on Network which assisted victims of Hurricane Katrina.

          Gina enjoys cooking, sketching and golfing with her husband, Joe. She splits her time between Los Angeles and New Jersey.
